First blog post!!

Wow! Getting this site up and running has been a journey, even though the initial setup only took one day.
I had been thinking about making a personal site for a while now. While I was taking some AWS training
classes at work, I thought I needed a project to apply the things I was learning about.
Then it hit me. My project could be my own site. I wanted to go with something fundamental. Hence, the
site has fundamental coding. After doing so many boxes on TryHackMe and HackTheBox, I didn't want to
do anything fancy or use a website builder/plugin system.

Some people may find the style and code of this site to be a little odd. This is a call back to when the web was younger. Simpler. Don't get me wrong, I like some dynamic stuff sites can do now. The more stuff you add to your site, the more potential security holes you introduce. Don't get me wrong. This site most likely has some vulnerabilities right now. That is also part of the reason I wanted to set up this site. I want to learn more.

This site, of course, will grow. Over time, I will change things and maybe migrate platforms. That is the point of something like this. A tool to learn and experiment with. Of course, none of this would be possible if it wasn't for my wife. She has been a great supporter and encourager with my projects. She tolerated me getting a Dell T430 server in the house. Thank God it is pretty quiet after it starts up. She also puts up with the time I put into doing boxes and making videos. I can't thank her enough for all the support over the past few years.

One thing I plan to already add to the site is a walkthrough section. Where I will post the text form of my video walkthroughs. I know there are people out there who like to read walkthroughs instead of watching videos. I am one of them. Yes, I use walkthroughs from time to time. Not on new boxes though. I don't see the problem with referring to a walkthrough after you have spent at least an hour trying to research something on a box. However, I think you should just look at the section you are on, close out the walkthrough, and try to proceed on your own.

Thank you for stopping by and taking the time to read this post. I do appreciate it. I would love to hear any feedback or thoughts you may have. The best way to reach me would be through the X link at the bottom of the page. I hope your passion for learning stays strong. Stay safe out there, and see you in the next post.
